Pastor  Mac Herrington — Testimony

Now the LORD had said to Abram:

"Get out of your country, From your family

And from your father's house, To a land that I will show you.

Genesis 12:1

Dear Friends and Family,

The Lord had given me a word of prophecy through several people that God was going to do a new thing and not to remember the old things, and that He would make the path clear and that there would be rivers of water in the desert (Isaiah 43:18-19).

Shortly after that word I felt the Lord telling me that

He was calling me to a new work in Arizona.  My

wife and I were invited to dinner with some close

friends who moved out of state and just happened

to be in town. They brought a friend with them who

told my wife and I not to be afraid and that God is

calling us to another work.

My wife went away on a women’s retreat and a

woman walked up to her and told her that she and

I needed to pray about starting our own church.

Another sister gave her a card with Isaiah 43:18-19 on it.

A month later, I had a divine encounter with a brother in the Lord from another church who told me about a group of people in Anthem Arizona praying for a Calvary Chapel pastor to start a Calvary Chapel work in their community. I forgot to mention that before that encounter,

the Spirit spoke to me and said He was going to speak to me that night.  I told my brother to give me the phone number and I would check it out.

Next thing I knew, he and I were driving out to Anthem to meet this group of people.  The group of people turned out to be two families. I asked the Lord to confirm whether this was Him or not and the Spirit told me to “look for the lamp stand”.  The Lord had given me a vision of a lamp stand with a Word from psalms 18:28-30 three years prior at a Pastors conference.  I wrote that Word down and dated in my bible.

I went back to the house where one of the family’s young sons wanted to read me a chapter of the Bible.  He chose a verse that the Lord had given me two days prior.  I went to the family’s backyard to call my wife and tell her about the coincidence and in this family backyard was the lamp stand I had seen three years earlier in my vision.

I shared the story with the family and the father opened up his Bible and a bookmark fell out.  It was the bookmark given to us at the conference where I received the vision three years ago in Southern California.

We started a Bible study in this family’s house about four months and we out grew the house and are now holding Bible studies every other week in the community center.

We made our home Anthem and stepped out in faith, trusting in the Lord to provide and take care of our needs.  He is faithful!

I am asking you for prayer, for resources for my family, God would give me wisdom, humility and the ability to teach His Word and love His sheep.

Hosanna has been so gracious to me and my family.  Pastor Garry has not only disciple me and equipped me, but has always personally invested in my family for the last 23 years.  It is with a mixed heart of emotion that I leave Hosanna Bellflower.  On one hand I am sorrowful because I know that I will miss the consistent fellowship, on the other hand I am excited because the Lord is moving.  My desire is to redeem the time and live the remainder of my days on the earth in his will.
